In 2230 offices of Bulgarian Posts levs will be exchanged into euros, with the lists being already available on the company website.
According to the National Plan for the Introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria and the Law on the Introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria, starting from the date of the country’s accession to the eurozone, Bulgarian Posts will exchange banknotes and coins from levs to euros in settlements where there are no offices or branches of credit institutions.
For the first six months, this service will be free of charge for citizens.
Post offices will exchange banknotes and coins from levs to euros in amounts of up to BGN 1,000 per person per day. For amounts between BGN 1,000 and BGN 10,000 per day, a prior request must be submitted within 3 to 5 working days, and only at certain post offices in the country.
